How It Works

• Authors send stock to our PO Box (larger shipments can be held by the post office for collection).

• We transport your books to events and sell them on your behalf.

• Unsold stock can be held for future events, depending on the option you choose.

• Funds from sales are paid out once cleared from the event.

• Most Print on Demand services allow authors to print within Australia and post Author Copies, saving you on print and shipping.

Sales Options

Option One – Full Payout (Flat Fee)

Once‑off fee: $100

• You receive 100% of your book sales

• You choose your retail pricing

• We handle storage, transport, setup, display, and sales

• Funds are transferred to you after event clearance

• Remaining stock is held for the next event

• Discounted rate applies for subsequent events under this option

Best for: Authors who want full control over pricing and maximum payout per sale.

Option Two – Shared Sales (Lower Fee)

Base fee: $50

• We retain 10% of book sales

• Remaining 90% is paid to you after event clearance

• We can hold your stock for follow‑up events

• Same care, presentation, and sales effort as Option One

Best for: Authors wanting a lower upfront cost while sharing sales commission.

Why Are There Fees?

We aim to represent your work professionally and enthusiastically. These fees help cover:

• Secure storage of books between events

• Transporting stock to and from multiple venues

• The price of the event charge (typically between $400-$900 based on the event)

• Bump‑in and bump‑out labour

• Stall setup, display styling, and teardown

• Hiring additional staff to manage a large, busy stall

• Time spent reading your books so we can confidently pitch, recommend, and hype them to readers

In short: we don’t just sell your books — we champion them.

Book Details

Terms & Conditions

By submitting this form, the author acknowledges and agrees to the following:

• This application should be considered carefully before submission. All fees are final. There are no refunds or exchanges under any circumstances.

• If an author later chooses to withdraw or no longer participate after confirmation, any payment made will be considered a charitable contribution to Fables & Filth and will not be refunded.

• The author confirms they are the rights holder and have permission to sell the submitted books and any associated artwork or merchandise.

• All books are supplied at the author’s own risk. Fables & Filth will take reasonable care of stock but cannot be held responsible for loss or damage caused by shipping, venue conditions, or circumstances outside our control.

• Fees and commissions are non-refundable once an event has been confirmed.

• Sales payouts will be processed after funds have cleared from the event and will be paid using the payment details supplied.

• Unsold stock may be held for future events if selected.

• Pricing supplied by the author is considered final for the duration of the event unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• For artwork commissions or merchandise creation, the author is responsible for supplying complete and accurate descriptions, references, and/or artwork files. Delays in supplying details may delay completion.

• Fables & Filth reserves the right to decline stock that arrives damaged, incomplete, or significantly different from what was agreed upon.

• By participating, the author grants Fables & Filth permission to promote their books and related merchandise at events and across social media platforms.
